SIS (Styrene-Isoprene-Styrene Block Copolymer) typically features a linear, radial (star), or mixed molecular structure. The radial structure often exhibits superior adhesive performance due to its more regular morphology. Combining the processing characteristics of thermoplastics with the elasticity of vulcanized rubber, SIS is widely used in hot melt pressure-sensitive adhesives (HMPSA), sealants, and modified bitumen for roofing waterproofing membranes.
